Off to the Literary Festival is an independent trip planner for UK book and literature festivals. We help you turn an event you want to see into a visit you can enjoy: choosing a festival, finding the official box office, planning the journey and deciding where to stay. How we research our guides
Festival facts come from official festival, venue, council, tourism and transport sources. Each guide links to the sources behind its dates, venues, booking information, travel and access advice. Author pages draw on official programmes for appearances and author or publisher pages for books and writing careers.
We check dates and programmes when each festival announces them, and review every guide at least once a year. A visible “Last checked” date refers to a factual check, not simply to a page being edited. Where that date appears, it helps you judge when the information was reviewed. Always check the organiser again before making a booking.
What we don't do
We do not sell tickets, organise events or handle refunds. We do not use festival branding or publicity photographs. The photographs we use carry reuse credits and licence links; a designed name card stands in for an author portrait where needed. We do not invent dates or line-ups. Past programme highlights describe past events, and a writer's earlier appearance is not a promise that they will return.
How we earn
Booking.com accommodation links through the CJ network are paid links. If you book through one, we may earn a commission. The note beside the link tells you this before you follow it. Paid links do not affect which places we describe, and they do not mean that we have checked room availability for your trip.
The booking provider sets prices, availability and terms. Compare the location and facilities with your own needs before paying. Our affiliate disclosure explains the arrangement; ticket links lead to the official festival box office.
Corrections
If something looks wrong, please contact us with the page address, the detail and an official source if you have one. We check reported errors against the relevant source and correct them. Our corrections log explains significant changes so readers can see what changed and why.
