Aye Write’s main festival is planned as a five-day experience across Glasgow in March 2027. Its programme will include author sessions, debates, pop-ups and community events. Exact days and named speakers have not been announced. Use the official festival page for the new edition, and keep its dates separate from the year-round Presents events when choosing tickets and a place to stay.

Confirmed for 2027

The 2027 programme hasn’t been announced yet.

A main festival across Glasgow

The planned five-day festival brings author sessions, debates, pop-ups and community events into the same city-wide experience. Choose the event you most want before deciding how many days to spend in Glasgow. A single conversation can be the centre of a day trip; several sessions may make an overnight stay more comfortable.

Aye Write Presents is a separate programme with its own event dates and venues. Its autumn 2026 events should be booked as those individual visits. Book those visits separately from the March festival. Use the organiser’s page for the event you choose.

Choosing your Glasgow base

Compare the city centre, Charing Cross and the West End with the venues on your tickets. A room selected for an arrival station may give you a different daily journey from one selected for a university or library event. Ask about luggage storage if your first talk precedes check-in or your last session comes after checkout.

For several city-wide events, put the journeys between venues into the timetable before buying a packed day. Leave space for food and a break, and check the return after the final evening conversation. Use the operator for the actual service date; do not make a future booking depend on the hours of an earlier festival.

Book your room first

Choosing the town and dates can come before choosing individual talks. If you reserve at that stage, compare the actual rate’s payment and cancellation conditions and keep its deadline with your festival plans. Select your travel dates and guests once the visit is settled.

Before you buy tickets

Use Glasgow Life’s official box office for the session you want. Check its venue, date and ticket conditions before adding a room or transport. Contact the organiser about access or a companion ticket for that particular event, and the accommodation provider about the room itself. Keep the confirmations together so you can see how the whole visit fits.

For reading ideas while choosing a trip, browse our author profiles or compare the festival calendar. These offer other reading and travel choices; the new Aye Write programme remains the place to choose its featured speakers and events.

Glasgow Life’s festival page offers sign-up for programme news. Use the organiser’s own service if you want those announcements, then check the published event details when choosing tickets. Keep the confirmation and its venue address with the rest of your travel plans.
